A new species of Merelina Iredale, 1915 from the Western Indian Ocean (Caenogastropoda: Lironobidae)

Abstract
A new species of the lironobid genus Merelina Iredale, 1915 is described based on shells sorted out of bioclastic sand samples collected in Manda Toto Island (Lamu Archipelago, Kenya). It is compared with other species of the genus, highlighting its distinct features.

Una nuova specie lironobide del genere Merelina Iredale, 1915 viene descritta sulla base di conchiglie selezionate da campioni di sabbia bioclastica raccolti nell’isola di Manda Toto (Arcipelago di Lamu, Kenya). Viene confrontata con altre specie del genere evidenziandone così i caratteri distintivi.
