Abstract
The Cretan Sea molluscan fauna is still one of the least studied of the Mediterranean Sea. We studied samples collected by a fishing vessel at seven stations north-west of Crete (Aegean Sea) with a Van Veen grab in March 2022. Overall, 57 species were identified: 39 gastropods, 15 bivalves and 3 scaphopods.
The shells belonged respectively to 26 epipelagic planktonic species and 31 deep-sea benthic species. The most relevant discovery of this research concerns two gastropods, Diaphana marshalli (Sykes, 1904) and Granigyra granulifera (Warén, 1992), two new records for the Aegean Sea.

La fauna di molluschi del Mar di Creta è ancora una delle meno studiate del Mar Mediterraneo. La malacofauna dell’area di acque profonde a nord-ovest dell’isola di Creta (Mar Egeo) è stata studiata sulla base di campioni di sedimento raccolti a bordo di un peschereccio con una benna Van Veen da sette stazioni nel marzo 2022. Complessivamente, sono state identificate 57 specie: 39 gasteropodi, 15 bivalvi e 3
scafopodi.
Le conchiglie appartenevano a 26 specie planctoniche epipelagiche e a 31 specie bentoniche di acque profonde. La scoperta più rilevante di questa ricerca riguarda due gasteropodi, Diaphana marshalli (Sykes, 1904) e Granigyra granulifera (Warén, 1992), che rappresentano nuovi ritrovamenti per il Mar Egeo.
