First Mediterranean record of Atys ehrenbergi (A. Issel, 1869) with notes on some species of the genus Retusa (T. Brown, 1827) (Gastropoda: Cephalaspidea)

Abstract
The Red Sea species Atys ehrenbergi (Issel, 1869) is reported for the first time in Mediterranean based on findings at Karpathos Island (Greece) and in the Gulf of Iskenderun (Turkey). It is compared with similar Mediterranean species. Moreover, the variability of the Mediterranean species Retusa leptoeneilema (Brusina, 1866) and Retusa minutissima (Monterosato, 1878) is discussed with the support of photos of various forms from various localities. Shell characters allowing specific separation are indicated.

[Prima documentazione mediterranea di Atys ehrenbergi (A. Issel, 1869) con note su alcune specie del genere Retusa (T. Brown, 1827) (Gastropoda: Cephalaspidea)] Atys ehrenbergi (Issel, 1869), una specie del Mar Rosso, è segnalata per la prima volta nel Mediterraneo basandosi sul rinvenimento all’isola di Karpathos e nel Golfo di Iskenderun (Turchia). Viene inoltre effettuato il confronto con le specie simili presenti nel Mediterraneo. Viene discussa la variabilità delle specie mediterranee Retusa leptoeneilema (Brusina, 1866) e Retusa minutissima (Monterosato, 1878), col supporto di foto di varie forme da varie località. Vengono indicati i caratteri che permettono la separazione specifica.
